The Daily Bread Food Pantry is the second-largest food pantry in Schenectady County. Annually the pantry provides over 100,000 parcels of food to our neighbors.

The pantry at Holy Name of Jesus in Schenectady’s Mont Pleasant neighborhood is open Mondays from 3pm until 6pm. The Food Pantry does not discriminate on the basis of Creed, ethnic background, lifestyle, immigration status, or color. All who are in need are served.

Guidelines and rules:

  • No walk-ins please.
  • We are open Mondays from 3pm until 6pm.
  • To place an order please call 518-836-5310 and leave a message with your name (spell it), phone #, and date of birth. We will call you back to take an order. Indicate the Holy Name of Jesus / Mont Pleasant location for your order.

Our volunteers will return your call, take your order, and set up a time for you to pick up your food. Please be patient and call only once, it may take a while before we get to you, but we will call you. Please be near your phone to receive our call. We will call you three times, if you are unavailable you will need to call the next day to request food.

You may use the pantry every 28 days, please make sure that you have waited long enough before you call.  

The first time you use the food pantry you will need to provide proof of identity for you and everyone in the household (photo ID is preferred). Proofs include; SSI, SSDI, SNAP, Medicaid, WIC, NYS Benefit card, or income eligible. Please also bring proof of address, we need you to live in Schenectady County (a power bill, insurance bill, anything addressed to you works).
