We must not place great confidence in frail and mortal man, useful though he may be, and dearly beloved, nor should you be grieved if he sometimes opposes and contradicts you.

useful though he may be, and dearly beloved, nor should you be grieved
if he sometimes opposes and contradicts you. Those who are with you
today, may be against you tomorrow, and they often change to the
contrary like the wind.
Put your whole trust in God, and let Him be your fear and your love. He
will answer for you, and will graciously do for you what is best. Here
you have no abiding home; and wherever you are, you are a stranger and
a pilgrim; nor will you ever have rest, unless you are interiorly united
with Christ.
Let us pray. Holy Spirit, fill the heart of Your chosen one with a love for
Christ that drives him to proclaim the message of salvation in all that he
may do. May his ministry reveal Your presence in the world. Put Your
word on his lips and Your love in his heart, to bring good news to the
poor and healing to the brokenhearted. When he may preach, give him
the courage to proclaim the truth of the Gospel, even if it is demanding.
As the apostles went to the ends of the earth to proclaim the message of
salvation, give all the same burning zeal that all would come to know
you. Through Christ, our Lord. Amen.
