Let us pray. Almighty Father, grant the goodness of Your mercy upon Bishop-elect Charles Zawistowski, that having been chosen and consecrated to Your Church, he may serve with the zeal of the apostles before him. Aided by his wife, children and family, may the episcopal ministry reflect the teaching of scripture and tradition, and may his love for You prevail over all. This we beseech You, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Amen.
The Holy Rosary- Glorious Mysteries
While preparing to pray the rosary, recall to mind the apostolic
ministry of all of our bishops, as well as Fr. Sr. Charles Zawistowski’s
preparation to serve in like manner.
While holding the crucifix of the rosary, make the Sign of the Cross and then recite the Apostle’s Creed.
Recite the Our Father on the first large bead.
Recite a Hail Mary on each of the three small beads for increase of faith, hope, and charity (for those praying the Rosary).
Recite the Glory be to the Father.
1-The Resurrection: Jesus rises from the dead.
Recall the first mystery & recite the our Father on the large bead
Recite a Hail Mary on the on each of the adjacent ten small beads while reflecting on the Mystery.
Recite the Glory be to the Father.
Each succeeding decade (ten Hail Mary’s) is prayed in a similar
manner by recalling the appropriate mystery, reciting the Our Father,
then Hail Mary’s, and the Glory be to the Father, while reflecting on the Mystery.
2- The Ascension: Jesus leaves the Apostles and bodily ascends to heaven.
3- The Descent of the Holy Spirit: The Apostles receive the Holy Spirit in tongues of fire in the upper room with Mary.
4-The Assumption: Mary is taken bodily--assumed--into heaven by God at the end of her life here on earth.
5-The Coronation: Mary is crowned Queen of Heaven and Earth.
When the fifth Mystery is completed, the rosary is customarily
concluded with the prayer Hail, Holy Queen.
Hail Holy Queen
Hail, holy Queen, Mother of Mercy; our life, our sweetness and our
hope! To you we cry, the banished children of Eve; to you we send our
sighs, mourning and weeping in this valley of tears. Turn then, most
gracious advocate, your eyes of mercy toward us; and after this our
exile, show us the blessed fruit of your womb, Jesus. O merciful, loving
and sweet Virgin Mary.
Pray for us, O holy Mother of God.
That we may be made worthy of the promise of Christ.
