October 2026 Newsletter – We Are Jesus’ Church

October 10, 2026

For in one Spirit we were all baptized into one body—Jews or Greeks, slaves or free—and all were made to drink of one Spirit. We have just concluded weeks of prayer, a Novena to the Holy Spirit, and three days of the XXVII Holy Synod of the Church. It has been a whirlwind. We often feel that everything is just rushing by. However, the prayer we engaged in and the days of Synod helped us slow down and take account of where we have been, our expectations and hopes for the future, and our setting of a course for strengthening the Church. Much had to be accomplished, the election of bishops, our budget... Beyond all that, our efforts to show forth the Pristine Faith of the early Church in today’s environment.

Much had to be accomplished, the election of bishops, our budget which has been operating on 2014 dollars for 12 years (what was $100 in 2014 is now worth only $87). Beyond all that, our efforts to show forth the Pristine Faith of the early Church in today’s environment.

By faith and experience we know the Church has always faced challenges and we have been able to stand up to them. The grace, kindness, and fellowship we experienced from across the Church at Synod gives us good reason for hope today and for tomorrow.

Prior to Synod we were asked to reflect on our definition of Church. Is this ‘our’ Church or is the Church something far bigger. As Polish National Catholics we tend to speak in ‘our church’ terms. That is both positive, showing forth our personal dedication and commitment to the Church, but it also implies some negatives like exclusion, exclusivity, and a lack of openness. Indeed, it is not our Church, it is Jesus’ Church. As St. Paul discusses in 1 Corinthians 12:13, we were all baptized into one body. We have all drunk of the One Spirit.

As part of Jesus’ Church we have a much greater responsibility. Yes, it does require our personal dedication and commitment to the Church. It also requires our dedication to evangelization (inviting people in) and an openness to welcome anyone who walks through our doors. Our ministry, prayer, charity, and welcome are indeed the roadmap forward in Jesus’ Church.

Welcome to our October 2026 Newsletter. We have much to report from Holy Synod and more to reflect on as we grow and move forward. What an awesome blessing.

Check out information on what’s going on throughout October from Pet Blessings to our Clothing Drive, the good work we are doing in the community, the celebration of the Christian Family, praying the Rosary together, and lots of great upcoming events.

All that and more in our October 2026 Newsletter.
