Reflection for Trinity Sunday 2026

May 30, 2026

For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world might be saved through Him. We have one God, one Lord, one Savior, one Way, one new life.

For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world might be saved through Him.

We have one God, one Lord, one Savior, one Way, one new life.

God’s beautiful plan of salvation has been manifested throughout history, and it is entirely focused on our salvation.

It began in creation when we were fashioned according to Their image. God placed His imaging in us and by doing so He placed in us a spirit of longing, a desire to be with Him. By it, if we choose, we return to Him and find completeness there.

At Sinai, when the people sinned, God chose not to destroy, but to forgive. He said: "The LORD, the LORD, a merciful and gracious God, slow to anger and rich in kindness and fidelity."

From Abraham to Moses and beyond, God did not limit His love to the Jewish people alone but encouraged them to welcome others into the community. As Jesus pointed out in the Synagogue in Nazareth: Elijah was sent to a widow in Zarephath (a foreigner) to save her from starvation. In the time of Elisha the prophet, only Naaman the Syrian (a foreigner) was cleansed.

Of course, those to be included had to enter the covenant. They could not remain as they were but had to change at the most essential level by placing faith in God alone and following the path He laid out.

The prophets were sent to call people back to faithfulness. Finally in time, God’s Son was sent to bring salvation to its full reality by carrying our sins, taking the punishment for them, revealing the promise of the resurrection, and opening the gate of heaven to us.

God then sent the Holy Spirit with His awesome gifts and graces to lead us and remain with us, strengthening our followership.

God brings us all to unity and oneness with Him. As He dwells Trinity in Unity, so we who follow His way are destined for that very same unity.
