Reflecting on a call to serve
Let us pray. Almighty and loving Father, we, the members of the Polish
National Catholic Church and beyond come before You with grateful
hearts, lifting Your servant, Bishop-elect Charles Zawistowski. We
thank You for his priestly ministry and for calling him to serve Your
people as a bishop in the Polish National Catholic Church.
As he prepares for his consecration, fill him with the gifts of the Holy
Spirit. Grant him wisdom to discern Your will, courage to proclaim
Your truth, and humility to seek Your guidance in every responsibility
entrusted to him. Deepen his faith, strengthen his hope, and enlarge his
heart with the love of Jesus Christ.
Lord Jesus, Good Shepherd, teach him to shepherd Your people with
patience, compassion, and steadfast devotion. May he listen attentively,
speak with kindness, and lead by faithful example. Help him to
encourage the weary, comfort the sorrowful, welcome those who feel
forgotten, and guide those seeking their way home to You.
Bless his ministry among clergy and laity. Through his leadership,
strengthen the unity of Your Church, nurture sacred vocations, and
renew our commitment to proclaiming the Gospel. May his preaching
open hearts to Your living Word and may his celebration of the
Sacraments nourish Your people in holiness and love.
Sustain him in times of difficulty. Grant him health, peaceful rest,
trusted companions, and the assurance that he is upheld by the prayers of
Your faithful people. Bless all who support him as he embraces this
sacred calling.
Make us faithful partners in his ministry. Keep us generous in prayer,
willing to serve, and attentive to the needs of one another. May we grow
together as Your Church, united in faith and joyful in service.
We entrust Bishop-elect Charles to Your loving care, through Jesus
Christ our Lord, Who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit,
one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
